Murc's pose is very dynamic and he looks like he's going to plunge right out of the image! I like the action and energy from him in this image.
I like the overall layout of this piece, but it could benefit from more time spent on the background. There's no clear light source and the limited, saturated palette of colors you used on the foliage creates a really busy background that draws away from Murc as the focal point. Since the light looks like it's coming from the same direction as the viewer's line of sight, I'd like to see mostly dark foliage with a few bright areas in the foreground picked out by the light source.
Beautiful equine imagery overall! I'd love to see you challenge yourself more with backgrounds.
